If you didn’t know, there is a Blessing of the Animals that takes place in churches all over the world once a year. It’s pretty self-explanatory - people bring their pets to church to get a blessing from the priest. So it’s mostly cats and dogs, right? Wrong. Shame to those who assume.

The Bible says “all flesh shall see the salvation of God.” And all flesh means crazy animals get a blessing too.

The blessing in New York City is the one you might expect the most cats and dogs, but it’s actually the one that most resembles a zoo. People are bringing in alligators, a sloth in a laundry basket, multiple camels, and a lemur. Even the lemurs, no matter how annoying they were in Madagascar, shall see the salvation of God.
